Minecraft Survival servers, often called SMP servers, turn gathering resources and building a base into a shared world. Some stay close to vanilla Minecraft; others add land claims, shops or quests. Check each listing for the rules that affect your builds and progress before choosing a community.

SMP means survival multiplayer. It describes playing Survival with other people, rather than a single fixed ruleset. An SMP may use vanilla rules or add plugins, an economy and protection systems; read the individual server description.
